I do own the 42" rotary cutter and use it with my BX 2200. I am a new operator, so I know some of my problems are due to my inexperience. The cutter cuts good in almost all conditions. Right now I am still having trouble keeping the deck level (getting better as I figure out the 3 point hitch) and at times the rear wheel digs in and makes a ditch. Overall, I know this will work well once I figure out how to use it. ....

The top link should have a flex link in it. That should if working properly eliminate the rear wheel gouging. The vertical links should be able to be adjusted so the deck cuts level. Some have a slotted area so that the links can float up and down, your conditions dictate as to where you need to have thse pins but normally they are in the fixed hole. ....

I picked up a 48" King Kutter for my BX2200. It works fine, plenty of power even in heavy grass. I find that the wide tires of the tractor push down the grass & leaves tracks when the grass is really heavy. Best to clip it before it gets so long. As for use in uneven territory, the adjustable top link that Art suggested would be good however I found that its just as easy to remove the top link from the mower. The top link stays neatly in the upright hook & remains readily available if you need to lift the rear wheel. For most mowing, I think you'll find that the mower stays closer to the contour of the land. For transport simply connect it again. ....
